At the start of third episode of The Rising of the Shield Hero, Raphtalia and Naofumi and continue their training and preparation for the approaching Wave. They realize that they’ll need better equipment for the fight, so they go and visit their favorite weaponry.
Since the last episode, Raphtalia has really grown in courage. She’s not shy anymore and is really comfortable towards Naofumi.
The shop owner hints about something about demi-humans, but Raphtalia cuts him off before he finishes.
The shop owner will make custom armor for Naofumi.
At lunch, Raphtalia demands that Naofumi not treat her like a kid anymore.
Upon receiving his barbarian amor, Naofumi hears that there’s an hourglass in the church that tells when the next Wave will be.
At the church, they run into the other heroes. Kitamura gets friendly with Raphtalia, and warns her about the rumors of Naofumi.
It’s awkward between Raphtalia and Naofumi that night. Naofumi doesn’t want to tell her about the rumors, as no one believes him, anyway.
The next day is the day that the Wave is coming. All of the warriors are in the streets, preparing to be transported to the battlefield.
Regardless of the rumors, Raphtalia tells Naofumi that she will always be by his side as his sword.
The Wave has arrived! As the heroes go off to battle the boss, Naofumi notices that the Village of Lute is being destroyed and no one is helping it. He and Raphtalia rush off to aide the villagers.
As Naofumi fights off the monsters, he wonders why he’s risking his life for strangers.
Thankful for Naofumi and Raphtalia, the evacuated villagers return to help him fight.
All of a sudden fireballs rain from the sky. Naofumi has to quickly shield himself and Raphtalia. The attack is coming from the army. They didn’t care if the Shield Hero was there.
A monster appears behind the army! Naofumi saves them before they’re crushed.
A portion of the army has a change of heart and decides to assist Naofumi and Raphtalia.
The Wave is over! The three offensive heroes defeated the boss and ended the Wave.
The villagers are really thankful towards Naofumi and Raphtalia.
When will the next Wave arrive?
