Season 1, Episode 4 of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

At the start of the fourth episode of Food Wars, Soma is walking to his new dorm. It’s a late, cold night. Soma walks past many beautiful buildings – will his dorm look as wonderful as these buildings?

A strong gust blows a paper that Soma was holding away. What was on this piece of paper?

Soma arrives to his new dorm. He’s shocked!

The inside of the decrepit-looking dorm is as frightening as its outside. All of a sudden, a hurd of animals rush by Soma!

Another room is filled with smoke!

Soma hears people wrestling above him! What is going on with this place?!

The dorm’s caretake arrives – an old women named Fumio. She asks Soma if he’s ready for his entrance exam, which completely surprises him. It turns out, the paper that was blown away contained information about Polar Star’s famous cooking test for new dorm members – if you don’t cook an acceptable dish, you’re not allowed to sleep in the dorm.

And, you have to bring your own ingredients. Oh no!

Fumio lets Soma use the remaining ingredients in their kitchen. Soma quickly begins cooking his dish.

To Fumio’s amazement, Soma was able to cook what looks like a scrumptious patty – but there wasn’t any meat in the kitchen! And Soma’s soup was so rich!

Soma ingeniously used canned mackerel to form his patty and used his dried squid snack as the base of the soup.

Soma’s dish wins Fumio’s approval and he gains his key to his new room at Polar Star.

Soma’s dish reminded Fumio of her youth.

Soma relaxes in his room as he soaks in everything that has happened – it was only a few days ago that he was cooking at Yukihira Diner! Just then, a man appears in Soma’s roof! It’s Isshiki, a second-year student. Isshiki invites Soma to a welcoming party for him.

Soma quickly fits in with this new dorm mates ^.^

Soma hears about the Elite Ten – a student body group of ten students that are viewed as the best chefs in Totsuki. This ignites a fierce desire within Soma to join the Elite Ten.

The other students bring dishes they’ve made to the party.

Soma is really happy ^.^ This looks to be the perfect place for him to grow in his cooking abilities as well as form lasting friendships.

Season 1, Episode 3 of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

At the start of the third episode of Food Wars, we meet Megumi Tadokoro ^.^ A shy girl from the mountainous regions of Japan. Megumi’s hometown is very small; the whole town supports her in her cooking dream.

Unfortunately, Megumi just received another failed exam, and is one failure away from expulsion!

It’s the first day of the new semester. The headmaster hosts an announcement for the incoming and returning students.

The school’s headmaster is known as the mafia don of culinary cuisine.

The headmaster instills fear in everyone’s hearts as he recollects that less than a dozen students graduate from Totsuki after three years.

But, with an inspirational aire, the headmaster concludes his speech by shouting “It should be you!”

The next speaker is the only student that passed the transfer exam. It’s Soma!

Although we thought Soma did not pass Erina’s test, he is here, and he is now a student! Soma’s speech is anything but compatriot towards his fellow students. Soma says that this school is just a stepping stone for him, and that he looks forward to working with everyone for the next three years.

The other students become infuriated ^.^

Soma goes back to the waiting room and finds Erina. She is horrified that Soma is there before him. She rejected him, so how is he here!?

Soma vows to make Erina say that his cooking is delicious ^.^ We find out that Erina’s grandfather, who is the headmaster of Totsuki, secretly watched Soma’s transfer exam as well as tasted his dish; the headmaster knew that Soma was special, not only in cooking but also for Erina.

Megumi is horrified of that new student, Soma, and decides to stay clear of him. She can’t risk befriending him as it might bring her closer to expulsion.

In ths first class of the semester, Soma is the only person who still needs a cooking partner ^.^

The other students really detest Soma for his speech.

The cooking class begins! The pairs need to recreate a classic french dish. Soma and Megumi’s dish is going smoothly. The two leave their cooking station momentarily.

When they return, they find their dish sabotaged! Someone has spilled a huge amount of salt, thus ruining their creation! What are they going to do? Time is running out.

Soma isn’t worried, and he reassures Megumi that everything will be fine. “We’re cooking pros before we’re students,” Soma says.

Students have begun bringing their dishes to the professor for judging. The mean students that ruined Soma and Megumi’s dish are sneering when, all of sudden, Soma and Megumi present their dish. Everyone is shocked!

Soma reveals that he used honey to quickly soften the meat.

The professor gives the pair an A, but wishes he could give them a higher score.

Megumi is really happy that she wasn’t expelled. She’s really thankful towards Soma and believes that he’s a special chef.

To celebrate, Soma gives one of his “unique” concoctions for Megumi to try ^.^

Season 1, Episode 2 of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

At the start of the second episode of Food Wars, there is a gorilla! This unexpected and unusual character is bathing in a hot spring with a very pretty girl, Erina. But what is going on?

In fact, these type of scenes are actually quite normal to Erina. When Erina tastes, she pictures food and taste much more vividly than the normal chef. Erina has the God Tongue, which allows her to pinpoint and clearly identify a dish’s strengths and weaknesses. This gorilla, unfortunately for the chef (or should we say chefs), is a very bad sign.

Erina is one of the most respected and regarded chefs, albeit her age, in gourmet cuisine. Chefs and restaurants from around the world inquire if Erina would taste-test their own dishes.

Soma is still amazed at the grandiose of the cooking school! He talks to his Dad on the phone. His Dad is surprisingly in New York! Since a few days ago, Soma’s Dad has already traveled around the world and has been cooking for the elites of society.

Soma’s Dad jocks Soma that he better not lose to anyone until he beats him, which only fires up Soma even more.

On school grounds, Soma quickly realizes that his fellow students (or rather, competitors) belong to the upper-ends of the culinary world, and severely look down on a “commoner” who runs a diner.

Soma and other potential-transfers come to the testing room where all but Soma stand aghast. The examiner is Erina! And if Erina says one bad remark about your cooking, you’ll never be able to cook again in Japan. That is how revered Erina is – one word can forever ruin your trajectory in culinary cuisine.

All of the students frantically run out of the room.

Erina and her assistant are surprised to see that she has a challenger! Soma ^.^

Soma’s test is to create a dish that uses the egg as the main ingredient. He accepts!

Erina and her assistant think very lowly of Soma when he tells them that he’s making rice with seasoning. However, Soma soon tells them that it’s no ordinary dish – it’s rice with transforming seasoning!

Erina wants to resist the dish due to her disrespect of Soma, but the lingering smell is too powerful!

Lunch is served!

DE-LI-CIOUS ^.^

Although the dish is not like anything she has ever tasted, she can’t bear to tell Soma that she loved his dish. So, Erina covers her true feelings for the dish by yelling that it’s disgusting.

As such, Soma fails the test…

Season 1, Episode 1 of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

The very first episode of Food Wars begins outside of Yukihira Diner, a small diner in a small town in Japan. A very friendly environment that looks ordinary from the outside. But something amazing is going on in the inside! ^.^

Is that Soma? Looks like he’s testing a new concoction of his…

Inside Yukihira Diner, Soma and his Dad are having one of their famous cooking competitions! And the whole neighborhood is there to watch two genius chefs battle it out. Their judge is one of Yukihira’s friends from school.

Soma’s Dad is also an amazing chef, and he has actually beaten Soma in every cook-off that they’ve had. But that doesn’t stop Soma from trying!

Soma’s Dad won their cook-off. Soma finds solace in feeding his friends some of his (disgusting) new creations – that poor girl!

After everyone leaves, a mysterious group of business men and one woman arrive. Although Soma tells them that they’re closed, they barge on in. They have a proposition: close down Yukihira Diner so they can make a new development on their property.

Insulted and amazed at their inquiry, Soma remarks that Yukihira Diner would only gladly close up shop when they can no longer satisfy their customer. The business woman sneers and leaves. Strange!

While Soma walked home from school the next day, his Dad called him. His Dad asked Soma what his plans are after he graduates? Soma replies that he wants to continue to work at their diner.

Upon arriving at their diner, Soma finds everything trashed! All of their food has been spilled and their sign has been spray painted!

The business men and woman coincidentally, and suspiciously, show up almost immediately. They ask Soma to prepare them a roast, and seeing that he can’t possibly make anything without his food supply, demand that Yukihira Diner close down.

Soma shocks them all when he tells them that he can, and will, make them a pot roast.

With seemingly minimal ingredients and scraps of remaining food, Soma quickly and masterfully begins to cook. But what will he do, there is not meat left?

In no time at all, Soma presents what appears to be a juicy, succulent pot roast! The business men and woman are aghast.

The pot roast is actually made of potatoes and bacon strips! Because Soma didn’t actually prepare a pot roast, the business woman demands that their diner shut down immediately. But the smell of the potato roast is too powerful to resist. She decides that she’ll just have one bite.

A-MA-ZING! She and her comrades can’t stop eating it!

Soma takes the dish away from them before they finish. They can’t handle it anymore, they have to have more! Soma will only let them finish the dish if they agree to leave and never come back. They agree.

The battle is over and Soma is the victor!

Soma’s Dad appears and suddenly tells Soma that he’s shutting down Yukihira Diner. WHAT?

Soma’s Dad wants Soma to experience the world and become his own chef.

His Dad wants soma to join a cooking school in Japan.

On his way to the new school, Soma sees students in severe stress over not passing a test. What is this school?

It’s actually the most elite, professional, and difficult cooking school in all of Japan. In fact, less than a dozen students graduate at the end. A cooking school that creates the most famous and skilled chefs in the world.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, Episode 12 | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

At the start of the 12th episode of Bunny Girl Senpai, we see the moment when Kaede first wakes up after she loses all of her memories. A really unexpected and shocking time for Sakuta and his family.

Puberty Syndrome 😦

Kaede wakes up as a different person – the way she talks, the way she eats, the way she acts. A different Kaede.

Sakuta and Kaede’s mom couldn’t handle the situation, and she develops her own mental illness.

Shortly after, Sakuta experiences Puberty Syndrome as well. He wakes up one night with three giant scratches on his stomach, forcing him to race to the hospital.

No one at the hospital, nor his parents, believed Sakuta’s story. They also disregard the possibility or plausibility of Puberty Syndrome. This hurtful disbelief causes Sakuta to run out of the hospital one day, desperately seeking someone that understands him.

He finds Shoko.

Shoko truly believes Sakuta’s story. She understands him. And for the next several days, every time that Sakuta leaves the hospital and goes down to the beach, Shoko is there as well.

Experiencing Shoko’s belief in him, Sakuta makes an effort to show Kaede that she’s not alone in her pain, he’s there for her.

Mai is a little mad that Sakuta is just now telling her about Kaede’s memory loss ^.^

Kaede really wants to overcome her fear of school, she desperately wants to get better.

Sakuta hands Kaede a book that her previous friend brought her. Inside, Kaede finds a note asking to be friends again. This brief memory of her friend and school causes Kaede to collapse from stress.

Sakuta rushes Kaede to the hospital.

The doctor tells Sakuta and his father that Kaede’s recent collapse could be the cause of her prior memories resurfacing – she may remember her old memories again. But if she does, her recent memories will be lost as well.

Out of the hospital, Kaede is back on her mission to go to school again.

A school counselor visits to assure Kaede that going to school will be okay. Even if she just visits the school nurse, that still counts as going to school. This energizes Kaede.

Kaede tries again. But every time they pass fellow students, she undergoes severe anxiety.

They make it onto the school grounds, but it’s too much for Kaede. She runs out of the school and onto the street.

Kaede wants to go to school so badly! But her legs can’t move when she gets close.

Sakuta has an idea to help her practice – going to the zoo!

After seeing giant pandas, Sakuta walks them home on a route that Kaede doesn’t recognize. Sakuta surprises Kaede by bringing her to school.

Sakuta wants to help Kaede get ready to go to school during the day. But what will happen once she completes this goal?

The next day, Sakuta wakes Kaede up. But something feels different, something’s not right.

Kaede answers in a very nonchalant way. Kaede is normally really polite and cute, but this Kaede is not the same.

The old Kaede is back! She’s regained her memories as well as her old self. Our Kaede that we have come to know and love is gone, and this strikes Sakuta’s heart.

Goblin Slayer, Episode 10 | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

At the start of the tenth episode of Goblin Slayer, we hear Goblin Slayer’s voice tell a story of his childhood dreams of becoming a platinum-ranked hero. While hearing this soliloquy, we watch as the Hero and her teammates defeat the Demon Lord.

We also see a young Goblin Slayer get mad at a young Cow Girl. To this day, Cow Girl wishes she had reconciled with Goblin Slayer for getting him angry.

Goblin Slayer’s older sister told him that he shouldn’t be mad at Cow Girl. His older sister also made him his favorite soup that night.

We see another memory of the first time that Goblin Slayer visited the guild.

We return to the present day. Goblin Slayer is in the field by the guild watching a retired adventurer train the next generation of heroes.

At the guild, the hostess seems a little jealous that Goblin Slayer is talking with the priestess ^.^ The guild hostess hands a letter to Goblin Slayer.

The adventurers, guild hostess, and Cow Girl all have a meal together!

The guild hostess mentions how adventurers still continue to live after they retire. Some find new purposes. This strikes Cow Girl’s heart.

Alone, the Goblin Slayer tells Cow Girl that he’s thinking of the future. Cow Girl tells him to not rush his future. She’s afraid that he’ll lose his purpose to live once he can’t fight goblins anymore.

The heroes did it! They defeated the Demon Lord! The whole town celebrates the victory.

There will be a day when Goblin Slayer can no longer slay goblins…

At the end of the episode, Goblin Slayer does his normal security check around Cow Girl’s house. This time, unfortunately, we see goblin tracks just outside their property. Goblins always scout their prey before attacking… 😦

Goblin Slayer, Episode 9 | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

At the start of the ninth episode of Goblin Slayer, the adventurers examine the mysterious mirror. Looking into it, they see a goblin homeland. It’s a portal! That’s how the goblins were coming into the sewers.

The elf hears an army of footsteps. The goblins are racing towards them to reclaim their mirror.

The goblins arrive. The goblin champion is there too. It’s a big fight!

The adventures simultaneously fight off the goblins and try to detach the mirror from the wall. Once they’ve detached it, the dwarf summons falling stones and the priestess casts a light miracle.

The stones come from the ceiling, so the whole structure begins to fall down!

The adventurers survive the collapsing building by hiding under the portal.

The Goblin Slayer returns to report their quest to the Stone Maiden.

He also interrogates her about the goblins, mirror, and white alligator.

Out of her own hatred for goblins, she secretly wanted others to feel her pain and trauma.

She’s still scared of goblins, to this day 😦

The Goblins Slayer will protect her. Even if the goblins are only in her dreams, he’ll be there. He’s the Goblin Slayer.

The adventures ride back to their hometown.

Goblin Slayer is going to try to make ice cream when he gets back, and all of the others want to try some ^.^

Goblin Slayer, Episode 8 | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

At the start of the 8th episode of Goblin Slayer, we see a memory of a younger Goblin Slayer. He’s training in a cave with an elderly man. This memory is post-goblin massacre.

Goblin Slayer is alive! ^.^

Goblin Slayer and the priestess were both saved by the miracle of sharing a bed with a virgin. We find out that the Stone Maiden was attacked by goblins as a young girl. She’s still scared of them, even though she was one of the heroes who defeated the Demon Lord.

Is the priestess wearing a new, black outfit?? No ^.^ it’s her outfit under her priestess outfit.

The adventures celebrate their victory and health with a meal together.

The priestess and the Goblin Slayer strengthen their armor.

And the two share a cup of ice cream (Goblin Slayer’s first time)!

A nice, relaxing day. They earned it.

Goblin Slayer only thinks about goblins ^.^

The Witch and the Spearman show up unexpectedly. It turns out that Goblin Slayer had requested for them to bring a bag of finely grained flour.

Cow Girl still patiently waits for Goblin Slayer to return.

The adventures return underground. The fight’s not finished. There’s still goblins down there.

They encounter an eye monster – a monster that “cannot be named.” This beast fires a laser beam through its eye that disintegrates anything in its path.

The adventures attack! The Goblin Slayer throws the flour in the air. The other members fight with their specialties.

Our heroes emerge victorious. They find a mysterious mirror behind where the eye stood. What is it used for?

Goblin Slayer, Episode 7 | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

In the guild at Water Town, Goblin Slayer notices something strange about the town’s quests – there are no goblin-related missions. Why is that? Goblins have been attacking civilians in the alleys?

Goblin Slayer brings a canary with them in order to detect any traces of poisonous gas.

Back into the sewers they go! They must defeat all of the goblins down there.

They find an old painting on one of the walls – a sign that these underground ruins were once inhabited.

They also find a mysterious door.

Rats! As soon as the team enters into the room, the door locks behind them!

Making matters worse, poison gas fills the room! The adventurers are (thankfully) able to quickly plug up all of the holes were the gas is coming in.

The gas now reverses, thus suffocating the goblins behind the wall. This forces the goblins to frantically claw their way into the adventurer’s room. But, one of the goblins is anything but an ordinary goblin.

They have to face a goblin champion.

The goblins are really strong, and start to overpower our heroes.

The priestess can barely keep her protection spell afloat. But, when the unthinkable happens, she can no longer concentrate on her miracle – the Goblin Slayer is defeated.

The Goblin Slayer lies in the ruins, unable to move. Memories of when goblins attacked his village and sister flood through his mind.

While the Goblin Slayer reminisces, the priestess is attacked too.

Thankfully, horrible memories of his past were the sparks needed to get the Goblin Slayer up.

The Goblin Slayer will never let goblins win again, ever.

The goblins are defeated, and all remaining run out of the room. The Goblin Slayer is victorious, but at a severe cost.

The Goblin Slayer collapses next to the priestess. Will he be okay? Is this the end of our hero, the Goblin Slayer?

Goblin Slayer, Episode 6 | SenpaiNEWS – Notice Me, Senpai!

In the sixth episode of Goblin Slayer, we are met with a frightening situation – a group of the Demon Lord’s minions have trapped a girl. Thankfully, in the nick of time, the Hero arrives with her teammates, who are also girls.

In a matter of seconds, the Hero rescues the defenseless maiden and defeats the minions.

The adventurers celebrate the Hero’s victory at the guild – everyone is talking about the heroic defeat, they’re one step closer to defeating the Demon Lord.

The Goblin Slayer enters the guild too. The first thing that the Goblin Slayer says to his clan members is that it’s “time to slay some goblins” ^.^

The priestess reminds the Goblin Slayer that discussions are meant to be two-ways.

The Goblin Slayer received a letter in the last episode requesting the Goblin Slayer to kill some goblins.

The team embarks on their new quest.

Their destination: Water Town

Water Town is known as the residence of the Stone Maiden – one of the original heroes that defeated the Demon Lord in a time’s past. The Stone Maiden is also the idol of the priestess.

The Stone Maiden is blind. What caused her to lose her sight?

The Stone Maiden requests the adventurers to defeat the goblins living under their city. As the problem revolves around goblins, the city’s military doesn’t view it as a credible enough problem to enlist their militia, thus forcing the Stone Maiden to search for an alternative solution – the Goblin Slayer.
