At the start of the fifth episode of the second season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), Mimasaka is talking to Soma in his Polar Star room. And, unexpectedly, Soma tells Mimasaka what dish he will be making for their match!

Everyone is shocked! Why would soma do that? Because Mimasaka was going to predict it anyways.

Erina is missing Hisako.

Soma answers a knock at Polar Star and it turns out be a young reporter for Totsuki’s news club. He asks to receive Soma’s exclusive interview for his Autumn Elections match.

Soma declines, but Sotsuda Mitsuru is very persistent. Soma eventually agrees.

Sotsuda taste tests all of Soma’s creations.

Erina is reading a romance novel. Alice had recommended them to aide in Erina’s boyfriend knowledge ^.^

Erina hears a knock on her door. Is it Hisako coming back?

No! It’s Soma and his reporter.

Soma asks for Erina to try his beef dish.

She tells him it’s not good for the match’s topic.

She asks Soma to bring her the rest of the novel series as compensation.

Nikumi brings Soma a care package of gourmet meats.

Shinomiya receives a call from Gin. He tells Shinomiya that he’ll be one of the five judges for Soma’s match.

Soma visits the Aldini residence. He asks Isami to tell Takumi to watch his match with Mimasaka.

All of the judges are former Elite Ten members!

Soma realized Erina’s hidden advice. He’s cooking with gourmet meat instead of his normal, bargain cuts.

Will Soma’s dish be able to beat someone who perfectly profiles his competitors!

At the start of the fourth episode of the second season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), an unexpected announcement aires on the intercom! Takumi and Mimasaka’s Autumn Election match will be a Shokugeki!

Mimasaka convinced Takumi to do a Shokugeki by making fun of his younger brother.

Mimasaka aggravates his opponents so much that they are forced to duel him out of anger.

Mimasaka has already won ninety-nine Shokugekis!

The judges receive the results of Mimasaka’s previous Shokugekis. All of his dishes have been identical to his opponents’!

And this match is no different from the others – Mimasaka is making the same dessert as Takumi.

By knowing his opponent’s dish, Mimasaka is able to change one or two ingredients or cooking techniques in order to one-up his opponent. A devious chef.

Mimasaka even uses the same lemon juice that Takumi’s family restaurant uses!

What can Takumi do?

Mimasaka’s dessert is beautiful and the judges love it.

But Takumi added special, unexpected ingredients into his dessert, too. He believes that he was able to outthink Mimasaka in the spur of the moment.

But, Mimasaka is in the background laughing to himself. Why?

Because Mimasaka knew that Takumi would change his dish in that way. He expected him too, so he was able to add his own special ingredient to one-up Takumi’s last minute addition.

The winner is Mimasaka. Takumi loses his cherished knife.

Mimasaka will be versing Soma in the next round. And, instead of staying at the arena to console Takumi, Soma heads straight home. Why?

Because Some knew that Mimasaka would be waiting for him, in his own room!

Mimasaka asks for their match to be a Shokugeki. He wants Soma’s knives. Soma accepts, but on one condition, Mimasaka hand over all of the equipment that he’s taken in his prior Shokugekis. And if Soma loses, he’ll quit being a chef.

Mimasaka accepts.

At the start of the third episode of the second season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), the winner of Megumi and Kurokiba’s match is about to be announced. And, after a moment of intense suspense, Kurokiba is selected as the winner.

Although Megumi lost, everyone is really proud of her and gives her a really loud applause!

Takumi Aldini’s match is tomorrow. Isami is worried for him.

On the way to the Shokugeki arena, someone stops to talk to Soma. It turns out it’s also a competitor in the Autumn Elections, Mimasaka Subaru. Mimasaka is known for his “down to the last detail” cooking style.

The first match for the day is between Hisako and Hayama. Who’s cooking will win: medicinal or spices?

Hayama cooks a kaba while Hisako cooks a turtle!

Megumi, Soma and Takumi all watch (unexpectedly) in Mimasaka’s waiting room.

Although Hisako’s suppon burger proves very flavorful to the judges, Mimasaka predicts that Hayama will be the winner.

Hayama’s pita burger tastes and smells great!

Hayama proclaims that Hisako’s burger falls short because she did not include the fourth layer, the pickles.

Hayama tells Hisako that her cooking and goals are too small. Someone who just wants to stay behind Erina can never ascend to the top of Totsuki.

Hayama is the victor!

At the end of the third episode of Shokugeki no Soma, Mimasaka and Takumi get into an argument. Mimasaka insults Takumi’s brother by calling him a second-rate chef. And he spits his gum on Takumi’s knife. Mimasaka, now that he’s angered Takumi, persuades him to do a Shokugeki with him!

At the start of the second episode of the second season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), Alice, bitterly, is accepting her defeat to Soma. Soma is really nice about, and helps her up.

Erina is jealous that Alice has the freedom to cry.

Now it’s Megumi’s turn in the Autumn Elections! Go Tadokoro!

Her challenger? None other than Kurokiba.

The topic for their match is ramen. Almost immediately after hearing the topic, Kurokiba figured out what type of ramen, broth, and noodles he will be preparing. Megumi, on the other hand, takes her time to figure out the best dish she can make.

Megumi receives a care package from home. It’s full of mountain vegetables!

The match has started! Megumi cooks a light broth while Kurokiba cooks a heavy, dark broth.

Kurokiba strengthens his broth’s umami by mixing in crushed shells.

Alice first met Kurokiba when they were both young. Kurokiba, albeit his young age, was the head chef at a seafood restaurant at his town’s port.

A chef to be feared.

What! The judges have left their seats to watch the contestants cook!

Kurokiba has always had a strong grip on his cooking and intimidation.

Kurokiba’s dish is finished! He has cooked Soupe de Poisson Ramen!

Whereas Megumi cooked a light, vegetable ramen!

Kurokiba is fired up! He asks to try Megumi’s ramen. And she tries his. Both are equally matched! Who will win this battle?

At the start of the first episode of the second season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), Megumi, Soma and the other Totsuki students are preparing to head over to the Shokugeki arena for the Autumn Elections’ second round!

Soma’s match will be up against Nakiri Alice. Their topic will be bento.

The arena is completely full, and the crowds are energized for the matches.

Alice has brought her high-tech cooking equipment.

Alice, similar to the first round, has utilized cutting-edge technology to strengthen her dish.

Her dish is ready! What will the judges think?

Alice’s bento box is filled with a beautiful array of sushi. Yum!

Each roll was ingeniously crafted, which shows that she is the granddaughter of the headmaster.

Soma’s dish is ready, too! And he presents his dish in a modern-looking bento lunch box!

The judges love it! But Alice thinks she has this in the bag. Then Soma asks her: “But was your dish really amazing as a bento?”

That’s the thing. Alice’s dish was beautiful and incredibly tasty, but wouldn’t she have prepared the same dish if the theme was sushi?

Soma’s bento box was inspired by a bento he prepared for an elderly neighbor.

And Soma utilized technology, just like Alice, to strengthen his dish.

Part of Soma’s dish was inspired by a childhood snack.

The votes are cast, and the winner is Soma! ^.^

The Price of Smiles, Episode 2 | SenpaiNEWS – “The Truth of the War”

At the start of the second episode of The Price of Smiles, we see a flashback of when Joshua was just a young boy. His Dad, a cadet and leader of the House of Ingram, was a very close friend to the King, Princess Yuki’s father.

Similar to Princess Yuki’s parents, both mother and father of Joshua died when he was still so young.

Once orphaned, Joshua moved permanently into the royal palace. His goal since then has been to protect the princess’s smile.

Joshua and his comrades are fighting the forces of Grandiga Empire.

Princess Yuki is in Soleil; she is still unaware of the war raging on between her nation and the empire.

Lune and Yuni tease Joshua for having a sensitive side.

Joshua’s army is fighting alongside the army of Grad, a bordering town. Both Yuni and Lune are soldiers from Grad. Margrave Girard is the general of the Grad cadets.

Soleil’s trump card is their new chrar development, which greatly increases the strength of their theurgear.

At night, Grad cadets secretly place explosives on the three theurgear’s belonging to Soleil. A traitorous act, indeed.

The empire is invading right now because they want to steel the kingdom’s new chrar.

Girard is betraying Soleil because they desperately need food and resources from the empire.

During the fight, Girard tries to blow up the theurgears that are equipped with the new chrar. Thankfully, Soleil cadets caught the traitors in act, so they were able to remove the explosives before the battle began. Girard is arrested.

In order to defeat the enemy, the cadets plant explosives on the ceiling of the cave. But when they try to detonate them over empire forces, the explosives don’t ignite. Joshua leaps into action and tries to detonate them by hand.

Joshua is successful, but he’s badly wounded in the process. Yuni saves Joshua before the explosions erupt.

Five days later, Miss Layla tells Princess Yuki that they need to visit a different town.

Princess Yuki is really happy and excited because she seldom leaves the capital.

Upon arrival, Princess Yuki is really confused why their shipped and theurgears look battled.

Soleil’s commander meets them outside of the room. What is going on?

Joshua didn’t make it. Joshua died just before Princess Yuki arrived… 😦

At the end of the second episode of The Price of Smiles, we see a meeting between cadets of Grandiga Empire.

And we meet Petty Officer First Class Stella Shining.

The first episode of The Prices of Smiles begins with Princess Yuki and her main guard, Joshua, meeting in a beautiful park. They live in a magical and majestic kingdom in a world far away. The scenery, music and ambiance are very reminiscent of Sword Art Online (and Joshua’s voice sound familiar too)! ^.^

Joshua and Princess Yuki have known each other since they were both children. They’ve grown up like brother and sister.

Princess Yuki’s main assistant is Miss Layla.

Today is Princess Yuki’s twelfth birthday! She gives a speech in front of her kingdom to celebrate this momentous day! Her homeland is known as the Special State of Hariant.

Princess Yuki is tired of approving documents all day.

So she and Joshua sneak out to the kingdom’s inner district. There they see statues of Princess Yuki’s late mother and father. Her parents died in an accident that took place at a chrar development site. Chrar is the kingdom’s main utility.

Oh no! Little kids have spotted the princess in her disguise. She and Joshua quickly run and hide before they cause a commotion.

They hide in a gaming simulator, where they meet fellow cadets.

Princess Yuki leads a meeting with her staff and guards.

Yuni Vanquish, a cadet and twin to Lune Vanquish, questions the princess’s knowledge and decisions. This insult stirs Joshua’s temper. Yuni questions why they still have a relic defense system floating in orbit.

The cadet leaders talk.

Joshua, still angry, challenges Yuni and Lune to a duel. The three battle in training simulators. The first team to retrieve their enemy’s flag wins.

Joshua is outnumbered, so Princess Yuki also joins the simulation. Team Joshua wins in the end.

At the end of the first episode of The Price of Smiles, Joshua and the other cadets head off to have “discussions” with opposing forces at the border.

Joshua and the other cadets say their trip is for discussions in order to not worry the princess, but in reality, they are going off to fight in a war that’s raging on at the border.

At the start of the twelfth episode of Goblin Slayer, the final episode of the season, the goblin lord is running back to his home town. He realizes that he’s lost the fight, but not the war. He wants to go back to his hometown and grow another army.

But the Goblin Slayer isn’t going to let him. He’s destroyed the goblin lord’s hometown, now he has to slay its leader.

Meanwhile, the fight rages on with the other adventurers.

But the goblin lord is too strong! He’s really hurt the Goblin Slayer!

Thankfully, the priestess’ protection shield unexpectedly appears, trapping the goblin lord.

The Goblin Slayer strikes down the goblin lord.

The Goblin Lord and Priestess return home.

The three heroes are in town! They’re attending a festival. They were invited because of the Goblin Slayer!

The adventurers celebrate their victory at the guild.

The Goblin Slayer tells the Cow Girl that he’s more certain about his future, he wants to be an adventurer 🙂

Goblin Slayer was afraid that others wouldn’t help him, just as no one had helped his village when it was attacked.

The Priestess asks for a reward…for the Goblin Slayer to take off his helmet!

Everyone takes notice!

Goblin Slayer is not alone 🙂 he has friends.

The Goblin Slayer goes to the town guild and asks the other adventurers to help.

What! Solo adventurer Goblin Slayer is asking for help from others? The other adventurers can hardly believe it.

Flabbergasted, the adventurers shrug off Goblin Slayer. Without a reward and being considered a quest, they refuse.

To appease his comrades, Goblin Slayer offers everything he has as the reward, including his life.

The silver-ranked hero agrees, and others begin to agree too, seeing the genuineness in Goblin Slayers eyes…er, helmet ^.^

The guild hostess makes it official and offers the quest takers one gold coin for every killed goblin!

The Goblin Slayer has found his team!

But will they be enough to defeat an army of goblins?

So far so good.

Thanks to the Goblin Slayers knowledge of goblins, they are able to predict their movements and strategies.

Everyone is needed to defeat this many goblins.

The goblin champions arrive.

Where is Goblin Slayer during this fight? He’s going after the goblins’ leader, the goblin lord.
