At the start of second episode of The Rising of the Shield Hero, the mysterious slave master is showing Naofumi his slave collection, starting off with his most powerful option for sale.

But Naofumi’s heart is set on the demi-human that he saw at first. She is part raccoon, but due to her ruthless previous master, she is diseased and has a mental disorder 😦

Naofumi agrees to buy her. The slave master paints a spell on her, so she can never disobey or run away from Naofumi.

Naofumi notices that he now has party member settings.

Her name is Raphtalia, and she is very shy and scared.

Naofumi buys Raphtalia new amor, and trains her to be his offense.

If she doesn’t obeyed, the spell hurts her.

Naofumi takes Raphtalia to have lunch. Outside, there is sign saying that they don’t serve demi-humans. Naofumi barges in.

Naofumi is really kind to Raphtalia ^.^

Naofumi tells her that he’s the shield hero, and she remembers her parents telling her that the shield hero was also kind to their kind, demi-humans.

Raphtalia has nightmares of when beasts from the first wave killed her parents and destroyed her village.

Raphtalia really enjoys spending time with Naofumi.

A wild monster attacks Naofumi! He tells Raphtalia to attack it, but she’s afraid because it has blood.

Naofumi warns her that he’ll throw her away if she can’t be his offense.

The two go to a nearby town to sell their goods. They hear how there’s a lot of money to be made in the cave mountains.

Naofumi’s shield can be upgraded and transform!

They enter into the cave and start mining crystals.

Oh no! The same species of beast that killed Raphtalia’s parents appears! It attacks Naofumi.

Raphtalia is so scared and can’t move to help her master. Naofumi, realizing this, tells her to run and save herself.

She did it! Raphtalia conquered her fear and defeated the beast!

She never wants to leave Naofumi ^.^

At the start of first episode of The Rising of the Shield Hero, we see a young man and a small girl in a misty, mountainous land. It looks like they are playing with a ball. Who are they and where are they?

A young man wakes up in his bedroom. He must have been dreaming.

He says that while he is an otaku, he’s not a “shut-in.” When he needs something, he’s more than ready to venture out in the world. He walks to the local library.

Books fall from the shelves. As he picks them back up, one catches his eye: “The Records of the Four Cardinal Weapons.”

He flips through the novel and skims through the story. But wait! Half of the book is blank, and it starts to glow! There’s so much light now! What is going on?

The next thing he knows, he’s on the ground in what seems to be a stone castle. A group of priests are excited that their “summoning worked.”

There are three other guys around the same age as him. The priests let them know that they are the four heroes that legends have told about.

The other guys immediately start acting the part as a hero. They accept their mission, but demand a reward. They are so comfortable with their new reality already! Our protagonist looks outside the castle and sees a magical kingdom.

Each of the four heroes has his own unique weapon. Our protagonist can’t remove his shield. They are introduced to the king of the land.

One hero is Amaki Ren.

The second hero is Kitamura Motoyasu.

The third hero is Kawasumi Itsuki.

Our shield hero is ignored by the king.

The shield hero is Iwatani Naofumi, a twenty-year-old college student.

The king explains how four waves are coming. The first already came, and they underestimated it. Only the four heroes can defeat the waves and save the kingdom.

The heroes notice that they have Magic Status and stats!

But the four heroes can’t work together. Their weapons supposedly repel each other’s and inhibit experience growth.

The heroes all realize that they are from a different version of Japan.

And our shield hero realizes that the defense hero is normally known as the weakest.

The king has gathered brave warriors to aide the heroes. The warriors are allowed to choose which hero they want to accompany.

None of the warriors choose Naofumi…

It’s because word spread around the kingdom that the shield hero didn’t know anything about their land.

A very attractive girl agrees to help Naofumi.

The three heroes receive 600 coins, but because Naofumi only has one partner, he gets to receive 800 coins.

The attractive girl is Myne Suphia.

Myne takes Naofumi to the best weaponry shop she knows.

Naofumi tries out a few of the swords, but each one he touches zaps him! He can’t wield a sword, because he is the shield hero. He must play only on defense, for the most part.

The shop owner can tell that his shield has power, but can’t identify how much.

They buy Naofumi some armor, but Myne asks the shop owner how much he would pay to buy it back. Strange?

Naofumi trains out in the field against low-power monsters.

Naofumi can feed his shield items.

Myne talks Naofumi into buying her amor, which is four times the price of Naofumi’s!

The two eat out at a pub. Myne tries to persuade Naofumi to drinking wine with her, but he refuses and goes straight to bed.

Naofumi wakes up the next morning and finds all of his money and armor have been stolen!

He rushes out to the hallway. The king’s men are waiting for him and demand that he come to the king’s court.

Oh no!

Myne has lied to the whole kingdom that Naofumi tried to do inappropriate things to her! How could she!

Alone and exiled, Naofumi just wants to go back to his world. The king informs him that new heroes can’t be summoned until all four heroes die. But the king assures the heroes that they can go home after they defeat the waves.

What will Naofumi do now?

The shop owner shows sympathy towards Naofumi. Naofumi, now realizing that he’s on his own, changes to a more serious personality. He knows what he needs to do to survive.

Naofumi trains on his own.

And demands fair treatment from prejudiced shop owners.

Naofumi begins making money by selling herbs and rare plants to a medicinal shop owner.

A gang of goons request to “join” Naofumi party.

They try to steal from him, but Naofumi can defend himself now.

Walking in a dark alley, a mysterious man pops out and talks to Naofumi.

He tells Naofumi that he has what he needs.

The mysterious man is a slave seller, and asks Naofumi to buy one of his.

Naofumi buys a demi-human, which is half racoon, but is also the weakest slave for sale.

At the start of the eleventh episode of the third season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), Alice, Soma and Megumi celebrate Kurokiba’s Shokugeki victory against Central.

Azami even congratulates them…but warns them that their end is coming.

Alice reflects how she had written so many letters to Erina but never received one in return. Azami was secretly intercepting Alice’s letters.

All of the other 32 organizations have all suffered defeat at the hands of Central.

He will be teaching a french dish for class, and he requests that one student be a volunteer. Soma offers his service ^.^

Although Eishi moves incredibly fast around the kitchen, Soma is in-step. Soma’s Stagiaire with Shinomiya definitely helped Soma in french cuisine.

Eishi is really nervous about how well he taught the students today.

He asks if Soma would consider being his assistant at Central.

Hisako and Erina watch Soma and Eishi from outside the room.

He can! The judges voice that Kurokiba’s flavors were superior to those of his competitor’s.

Kurokiba is not the same chef that was in the Autumn Elections.

Kurokiba evolved his cooking repertoire through his Stagiaire with a spice master.

During the Stagiaire, Alice called Kurokiba to tell him that they must get better after suffering such a humiliating defeat at the Autumn Elections.

At the start of the ninth episode of the third season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), Polar Star successfully stops Eizan’s goons from invading their dorm.

Marui notices that a Shokugeki is being aired on the Totsuki channel. Wait! It’s Soma and he just won in a Shokugeki against Eizan!

Meanwhile, Isshiki is busy filing paperwork at Central’s headquarters.

Soma returns home. His friends are waiting for him ^.^

Polar Star throws a party to celebrate Soma’s victory for their dorm. Isshiki final shows up at Polar Star; he explains that he’s been filing paperwork to reverse Central’s Shokugeki corruption. Now, any club can challenge the Elite Ten or Central task force to save their group.

Things are looking up!

But the next day, Azami forces Isshiki to give up his seat in the Elite Ten.

Now a lot of Shokugekis are taking place. But it’s really hard to beat Elite Ten members.

The Central Task force is really talented, too. Totsuki rebels will have their hands full.

Soma and Takumi don’t like the way they’re talking down to students who are sticking up for their clubs and societies.

The next club that is challenging Central is actually one run by Alice and Kurokiba. They inadvertently became the leaders of the club through a Shokugeki.

Kurokiba is infuriated; he’s going to try to take down Central on his own in the Shokugeki.

At the start of the eighth episode of the third season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), Eizan’s goons are outside of Polar Star, demanding that the students vacate…or else.

Meanwhile, Soma is intensely cooking in his Shokugeki against Eizan. The topic is gyoza. If Soma loses, Polar Star will be disbanded and he will be expelled.

But Soma doesn’t have to worry about his friends, because Polar Star is fighting off the intruders!

Eizan is taking his match seriously. He’s cooking his chicken specialty.

It’s going to be hard to win. Not only are the Shokugeki judges paid off by Eizan but they are also all business partners with Eizan.

Eizan’s dish is complete. The judges love his khao man gai, Singapore chicken rice.

But Soma’s not discouraged. He finishes his gyoza dish – it’s perfect, now it’s time for it to be judged.

Soma ingeniously used chicken wings for his gyoza meat.

Eizan tries it first. The flavors are overpowering!

The smells are too enticing. The judges try to resist due to their agreement with Eizan, but they can’t. The succumb and try Soma’s dish.

While Polar Star is fighting off Eizan’s goons, Erina remembers how much fun she’s had with the Polar Star members.

Soma was able to do the unthinkable – beat Eizan in a rigged Shokugeki.

At the start of the seventh episode of the third season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), Azami unveils his new gourmet regime at Totsuki.

The new Totsuki. A school where all can graduate, no more competition or unnecessary expulsion.

Azami is also disbanding all autonomous clubs and research societies at Totsuki. There will only be “Central” activities from now on. And all existing clubs will be destroyed.

Clubs can challenge Eizan to a Shokugeki to remain in existence, though.

But before they even start cooking, the judges unanimously vote Eizan as the winner. Eizan has bought off all of the Shokugeki judges!

At the start of the sixth episode of the third season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), Joichiro and Gin run into each other unexpectedly. Gin receives a phone call. Oh no! Something bad has just happened at Totsuki.

At the start of the fifth episode of the third season of Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma), Soma beats Kuga-senpai in the day’s sales!

But the Moon Festival is not over, and the fight to have the most sales still goes on.

During the Elite Ten picnic, Soma had asked to do a Shokugeki with one of the members. Kuga-senpai reminisces how he had asked the same thing to the current number one seat.

Kuga-senpai received his wish, but was utterly destroyed in his match with Tsukasa.

Kuga-senpai has been trying so hard in the Moon Festival because the number one seat agreed to have another Shokugeki if Kuga-senpai had the highest number of sales.

Another Elite Ten member asks Soma and Megumi if they would like to try the First Seat’s booth food at the Yamanote Area.

The third land is filled with gourmet restaurants, buildings, and notoriety.

The First Seat cooks under a spotlight as if he were on a stage.

The First Seat is an incredibly nervous person, but extremely confident in his own cooking. So much so that he doesn’t even ask Soma how the food was.

Soma comes just in time to break the spell cast over Erina. He asks if he can share a table with her father, Azami.

Soma saves Erina – Azami leaves.

Totsuki officials and the headmaster barricade Azami from leaving. Azami was previously exiled from Totsuki.

Oh no! It turns out that a majority of the Elite Ten voted that Azami become the new headmaster of Totsuki! He now controls the whole school.
